What’s worth buying
October 23rd, 2006Like so many others, I’m constantly fumbling with my home audio/video system. In comes new plasma, out goes old amplifier. In comes iPod…out goes old CD player. In comes BluRay (well not yet)…out goes record player (if my wife will let me). So, this weekend I’d finally decided to figure out how to control all this crap. Fortunately for me, a good friend over in London turned me on to a great product which solved my problems perfectly. Go get a Logitech Harmony remote control for yourself. You can control up to 15 devices and set up through their website is a snap. In about 5 minutes I had the remote up and running and controlling all my devices. Select “TV” from the main menu and all the other unrelated gear shuts off and all the related gear (e.g. TV, cable box and amp) turn on. Select Music and the TV shuts down and the CD turns on. It just works. Very, very well.
