The Seattle Sounders have won their fourth USL soccer championship on Saturday night. The Sounders now have the most titles in USL-1 history. What a fitting way to end the season as Adrian prepares to bring a major league soccer team to Seattle in 2009.

Why not make a ski movie? My friend Darren Grimstead over at thePlatform let us know what his buddy Rich Corbett has been up to over the last year. Trailer looks pretty good.
Somehow I had forgotten to post these to flickr…which powers my photo gallery on this site. I just love this guy.
Adobe AIR, formerly code-named Apollo, is a cross-operating system runtime that allows developers to use their existing web development skills to build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop. Some very popular applications, such as Pownce, use it for their cool app and I was interested to see what else was out there that leveraged the runtime.
If you manage a lot of bookmarks via del.icio.us like me, you may find this desktop application by Signet to be worth your while. Signet gives you the ability to take your del.icio.us bookmarks to the desktop. Installed it this morning. So far so good. If you use the Firefox plugin already, this desktop app will seem redundant. Still, it’s a pretty good example of what kind of desktop app a web/flash guy can make with Air.
Watching National Geographic introduced me to a few little known tidbits about the ocean.
For example, did you know that 70% of the world’s volcanoes are in fact not seen? They sit below the ocean’s surface. 90% of all volcanic activity on Earth occurs in the ocean.
Nearly 400 people in total have been sent to space. Do you know how many people have been to the deepest known part of the ocean floor? Only 2. In 1960, two divers in the pressure-resistant, one-atmosphere bathyscaphe “Trieste” made the ultimate voyage to the bottom of the deepest part of the ocean, touching the sea floor nearly seven miles below the surface. Nobody else has done it since.
Almost all of the deep ocean temperatures are only a little warmer than freezing (39°F)!
At the deepest point in the ocean, the pressure is more than 8 tons per square inch or the equivalent of one person trying to hold 50 jumbo jets.
Why is the ocean blue? The ocean looks blue because sea water absorbs all of the reds, yellows and greens out of the water, leaving only blue light to be reflected by the water molecules.
Rainbow Series: I've begun work on some light-hearted images I've taken around Seattle which have been treated with the spectrum of the rainbow. I'll be adding to this set over the year.
Photo Paintings: It's fun to take some old photos from my collection and see if I can get them to look more like physical works of art. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not but the process is quite fun.
Chernobyl Series: I've been working on some image collages with some old Chernobyl photos to try and pull some emotion out of some already spectacular images.
New Years 2007 in Hawaii: We spent New Years at Mauna Kea on the Big Island. Highly recommended to get some sun this time of year.
