I’ve owned this domain since 1994 and over the years this site has gone through all manner of redesigns, edits, chops, hacks and neglect. For the most part, I’ve used this site to share photos with friends but all the time and effort invested in maintaining it has taught me a great deal about what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to sustaining a modest online presence. This process has me convinced that we’re still a long way off from a day when ‘most people’ can publish and maintain their own sites and still have real creative control. Alas, that’s another long, long story. In any case, I’d probably describe myself as equal parts creative, technologist and business sensible. I designed this Wordpress myself along with many other sites and projects.

In fact, my chosen career to this point has been all about the software industry. Most recently, I founded a software concept lab called Curious Office Partners based here in my adopted hometown of Seattle Washington. While we do (and have) made small investments we’re also committed to developing (incubating) our own businesses internally. Our latest project is called Imagekind and we are now one of the fastest growing online art commerce sites on the web. I am currently the CEO and lead design and development of the project. We’ve also invested recently in Shelfari along with Amazon, Brad Feld and others. Prior to Shelfari we also invested in FeedDigest which was developed by Peter Cooper in the UK.Feed Digest is a parser, regenerator, and syndicator for, and of, RSS and Atom feeds. It lets you do things like put the content of RSS or Atom feeds on your own site and effectively build web pages with the contents of such feeds. Very cool.
