About
I’ve owned this domain since 1994 and over the years this site has gone through all manner of redesigns, edits, chops, hacks and neglect. For the most part, I’ve used this site to share photos with friends but all the time and effort invested in maintaining it has taught me a great deal about what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to sustaining a modest online presence. This process has me convinced that we’re still a long way off from a day when ‘most people’ can publish and maintain their own sites and still have real creative control. Alas, that’s another long, long story. In any case, I’d probably describe myself as equal parts creative, technologist and business sensible.
My chosen career to this point has been all about the software industry.
I founded a software investment and development company called Curious Office. We start online ventures.
You can learn about all of our projects here.
Our most recent project is a new kind of online marketplace for graphic design called Inkd. You can read about Inkd here. Prior to Inkd, we launched Imagekind which is now the largest online marketplace for buying and selling art.We sold Imagekind in 2007 to Cafe Press. I was the CEO and lead design and development of the project. If you love art, community and creating things you should enjoy the platform. Go check it out! Make your own art!
I’ve co-founded other companies and worked for other people’s companies. Among them:
http://www.myrio.com
http://www.theplatform.com
http://www.real.com
http://www.compuserve.com
Currently, I’m on the Board of Directors at Imagekind and I am on the advisory boards of Sampa and GridNetworks which is run by Jeff Payne – a friend and former colleague from both Real and Spry.
I live in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle.
