Adobe Air

Adobe Air

Adobe AIR, formerly code-named Apollo, is a cross-operating system runtime that allows developers to use their existing web development skills to build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop. Some very popular applications, such as Pownce, use it for their cool app and I was interested to see what else was out there that leveraged the runtime.

If you manage a lot of bookmarks via del.icio.us like me, you may find this desktop application by Signet to be worth your while. Signet gives you the ability to take your del.icio.us bookmarks to the desktop. Installed it this morning. So far so good. If you use the Firefox plugin already, this desktop app will seem redundant. Still, it’s a pretty good example of what kind of desktop app a web/flash guy can make with Air.
